In personal narrative writing, a writer relates an event or experience from his or her life. One kind of personal narrative is called a recount. A recount is a record of events or experiences that you may have had. The purpose of a recount is to inform or entertain your reader. There are three kinds of recounts: personal, factual, and imaginative.
